Regresan de su extenuante ruta atlántica aquellos isleños emigrantes que salieron del puerto de La Habana hace semanas. Santa Cruz de La Palma acelera su pulso y comienza a inquietarse, los correteos por las callejuelas anuncian la llegada de la parentela, llenos de novedades, cargados de productos exóticos y exuberantes de riquezas y esplendor…
¡Llegan los indianos!
Los familiares y amigos que se fueron en busca de mejores fortunas regresan a contar sus aventuras y los isleños que se fueron a Cuba vuelven como indianos a esta isla de La Palma que los recibe con los brazos abiertos.
Esto es lo que se celebra cada lunes de carnaval en las calles de Santa Cruz de La Palma desde 1920 hasta hoy. En la actualidad se ha convertido en una celebración de carácter internacional. Las costumbres se entrelazan y por un día nos sentimos cubanos, caribeños, ricos y señorones, cargados de joyas, bailones y divertidos. El día se disfruta en familia desde temprano con los más pequeños y hasta que el cuerpo aguanta.

Para visitar en familia, con niños, con pareja o amigos, el lunes de Indianos es una fiesta del encuentro, divertida, llena de acogimiento. Venga de donde vengas, Indianos te abre los brazos para que te sientas en tu casa en este rincón hermoso del Atlántico. Esta selección nos guía durante todo un día, desde que la gente se levanta y sale al trabajo con los primeros rayos del sol vestida de indiano, pasando por la llegada de la embajadora oficial de la fiesta, la Negra Tomasa, hasta terminar en esa hora de la mañana siguiente en que todo se diluye.
